If you want to try out the quiz feature, please proceed.  I have replaced the real questions with generic questions.

This is the first of your graded quizzes in the course. Let me give a quick overview of quizzes in this class before you take this quiz. Don't worry -- I won't give all these details before every quiz!

There are three types of quizzes in this class, as follows:

  • 5-point quizzes (like this one) -- These quizzes cover about half a chapter and are based on the textbook pages you have read, the lectures you have watched, and the assignments you have completed. The 5-minute time limit on these quizzes is almost always plenty of time to complete them. You are allowed to use notes and the textbook to complete these quizzes, but you won't have time to look up every question.
  • 10-point quizzes -- These quizzes cover an entire chapter and are based on the textbook, the lectures, and the assignments. The 10-minute time limit on these quizzes is almost always plenty of time to complete them unless you try to look up all the questions.
  • Non-graded quizzes -- Once in a while, you'll take a quiz, but it won't count toward your grade. For these quizzes, I'll usually have you take the quiz until you get up to a specific score. For example, in Chapter 2 we'll cover something called "account types" multiple times through lectures and assignments; then you'll take a quiz over the concepts until you get 90% correct on the quiz.

Don't blow off the quizzes. Yes, they are worth a relatively small number of points for each quiz, but over the entire course, the quizzes will be worth the equivalent of about a test and a half (about 150 points).

The learning management system automatically grades each quiz immediately. As soon as you finish the quiz, you should immediately have access to the answers for the quiz; take 1 minute after each quiz to review any questions that you miss. Add information to your notes so you can avoid making the same mistake again. If you don't understand why you missed something, let me know, and I'll try to explain the concept again. One more note: once in a while, the system incorrectly marks some questions as wrong, Don't panic -- I will review all quizzes after the fact and make sure the system graded your quiz correctly.
